Irene Sendler
I Was Taught That if you see a person drowning, you must jump into the water to save them, whether you can swim or not.
Irene Sendler
Irene Sendler, a Polish social worker, bravely rescued nearly 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII. She and her network smuggled them out, gave them false identities, and hid their original information to reunite them after the war. Arrested and tortured by the Gestapo, she never revealed her secrets. Her heroic actions remained largely unknown until later in her life.
